Taking inspiration from Monday’s Scandinavian style palette today’s board is a collection of little touches that reflect this style, minimalistic and functional yet simply beautiful.
Shades of pale blue, whites, creams and pebble, natural elements like herbs, pale florals, grey green foliage and pussy willow.
One of my favourite little touches is the take on a Princess cake or Prinsesstarta as it is called in Sweden. Made from layers of sponge, jam and cream encased in marzipan, which traditionally is pale green, the cake is used for special celebrations. I love this version in pale creams and white and think it would make a lovely alternative to wedding cake, on a dessert table or minature versions. Those of you who live in England and shop at Morrisons will have seen their own version of this, Festival Gateaux!
